Village Games Rules

VILLAGE GAMES 2009 RULES
 
  • Only PISC members may participate, to be a member they must pay $30 membership fee before the 1st February 2009.
  • A Player can not belong to 2 Sports Clubs/Associations and play in the Village Games unless PISC Committee has given permission on the basis they have some strong or past link to the club.
  • A Player is a person who wishes to play in the Village Games.
  • A Playing Team is a maximum of 7 players on the field at any one time.
  • A Playing Team may register a maximum of 20 Players and must have a minimum of 7 Players.
  • A Grade is how a Player is classified, either :Golden Oldies (45+ of any Gender) ; Men (13yrs-45yrs); Ladies (13yrs-45yrs)
  • A Golden Oldies player will be identified with special marking or banner to distinguish them apart as supplied by the PISC Committee.
  • No players of Intermediate school age or below may participate in the Village Games for safety reasons, unless prior consent has been given by the PISC Committee.
  • A Player must represent the village their father, grandfather or great grandfather etc comes from.(your dad's side)
  • A Playing Team must at all times have a mixture of Grades on the field.Min of 1x Golden Oldies, 2x Men, 1x Ladies.
Eg. Of Team Structure on field. 1x Golden Oldies; 2x Ladies; 4x Men = 7 players on field.
  • A Playing Team can be represented by a combination of villages, the villages must be neighbouring or approval has been granted by the PISC Committee before the 1st February.
  • A completed registration form must be handed in to the PISC Committee no later than the 1st February 2009.
  • A team entry fee of $100 must be paid when the Registration form is handed in. No late entries or fees will be accepted
 
Rules of Games
 
  • The normal rules of hockey will be officiated by umpires
  • Cards will be used for discipline of Foul play or unsportsman like behaviour.Green card – off for 1 min. Yellow Card – off for 5 min. Red Card – off for remaining game and stand down from the next game.
  • The timekeeper will issue a hooter sound for the start and end of games.
  • There will be no outs on the sidelines.
  • Defensive Penalty corners will be played like normal field hockey.
  • All goals must either hit the backboard or was going to hit the backboard.
  • There are unlimited substitutions. Substitutions to be made from behind the goal not sidelines
  • A game will run for 12mins in total, there is no halftime break.
  • There will be 3 mins break in between games.
  • Males are not permitted to hit the ball at all at any stage.
 
 
Competition Rules
 
  • The way the competition will be run is decided on the number of entries received. With even numbers we can play a Pool System. If odd numbers, teams will play a select numbers of games each against randomly selected teams. Length of games may change with the number of teams entered.
  • Umpires are responsible for filling in Game Cards.
  • If a female scores a goal it is worth 2 goals. Anyone else who score it is worth 1 goal.
  • If a team uses a fully padded goalkeeper, 6 other field players are permitted. There are no kicking backs allowed.
  • Points awarded to teams for:  Win=3pts, Draw=1pt, Loss=0pt.
  • The winning team is be bring the completed Game card to the Control Room
  • The top 4 teams will play in the semi final games. If teams are drawn to decide semi finalists, the winner in round robin goes through. If the game was a draw, then goals for count, if still tied, least goals against. Finally to decide a stroke off will take place.
